SimCity Offline ‘Single-Player Mode’ Arrives

When Maxis released SimCity, fans begged for two thing: bigger maps and offline play. Now finally; after a year of waiting, SimCity is halfway to becoming a decent game. SimCity’s 10th patch adds support for offline game-play, which permits players to save their cities on their hard drive, instead of on EA’s trusty servers.

Switching between offline and online play is somewhat convoluted and confusing. You must first fire up the SimCity launcher, then run the game in the previously selected mode. Which you reach the home screen within SimCity itself, you are presented with tabs offering Single-Player and Multiplayer options. Changing to a different tab will cause the game to exit, then restart with a slightly different looking launcher.
